Ten years ago...

an idea was born in my hyper active mind to create a Talk Show geared towards the Caribbean. As developing islands in what is often described as a third world region; we are constantly bombarded with American TV. As a result we as Islanders usually know up to the minute details of what transpires in the rest of the World on a daily basis, but are often times clueless bordering on ignorant about the daily events in our region and sometimes even on our very own small island nations.

I wanted to change that somehow

II was definitely not interested in creating a news broadcast. Too tedious, too tiresome, not up my alley kudos to all the brave humans who do this work, every day though; a heartfelt thanks to you. So if it wasn't going to be news, it had to be something that was informative, educational, eye opening, and fun. Yes lots of fun!

My Bells and light Bulb Moment

Finally the lights were turned on burning brightly, and offering transparent illumination on the road that I was traveling. I would do a talk show. A real life...with a real audience, Caribbean style Talk Show...But how? Alas, Caribbean people were into TV yes, but they preferred foreign programming. And who could blame them eh? Local TV was a mixture of blurry screens, endless political discussions...Sit-downs, next to a small table with poor lighting and uncontrollable TV volumes it seemed. I also knew that Caribbean people loved a good gossip but they were definitely not willing to air their own dirty laundry, or discuss any subject deemed as Taboo in any sort of organized public forum...definitely not on TV. A talk show like those beamed at us daily from our Cable TV were such a joy to watch, seemed so well put together, with people so willing and eager to get in-front the camera and say what's on their mind. How could I ever live up to that? I very well knew what I was up against, but presumptuous child that I am, I just thought that that was the thing to do, and that was exactly what I was going to do.
